Take Me To The Sea
My project I have created related to this theme is photographed below. I used the Stampin' Up "Magical Mermaid" stamp set for my card.
To recreate my project you will need:
- Stampin' Up 'Magical Mermaid' stamp set
- White card stock (8 1/4 x 5 7/8") scored at (4 1/8") folded and burnished.
- Night of Navy card stock (5 5/8 x 3 7/8") - stencil tone-on-tone with Night of Navy ink the wave stencil all over this piece of card stock.
- Patterned paper from craft stash that had hombre blues and greys - looked like under the sea. This was stamped with the sea bed, sea weed and bubbles and then cut into (x3) (5 x 1") pieces.
- White scrap card stock to stamp the mermaid in Black Memento ink and some additional seaweed too - leave to dry.
- Night of Navy card stock (2 1/4 x 1") - use embossing buddy on this before stamping sentiment 'have a Magical birthday' in Versamark and heat setting copper embossing powder. Punch two holes either side of the sentiment using the Detailed Trio Punch.
- Using inks and Aqua pen to paint seaweed and mermaid, when ink is dry adhere seaweed inside card base using wet glue and put Wink of Stella on mermaid's tail and rhinestones in her hair.
- (x8) rhinestones, (x5) for Mermaid's hair and (x3) for rest of card. (x1) blue rhinestone for sentiment.
- Blue Baker's Twine - to thread through punched holes in sentiment card stock and around card stock.
Putting together the card is fairly easy, all card stock and patterned paper is adhered flat with double sided tape. The Mermaid and sentiment are popped up on foam pads. The only additional part of this project was the envelope where I stamped the top of the Mermaid in the bottom right-hand corner in Black Memento ink and I stamped the sentiment "Happy Mail" and the image of the duckling delivering a letter in the top left-hand corner. (This helps the recipient of this card know that it is not a bill!)
If you have enjoyed finding out about my project, please let me know by leaving me some feedback/comments below, thank you. Till next time, keep crafting!
