Decoupage Cards

Decoupage Cards

I go to a Craft group on a Tuesday afternoon at my local church hall which is called 'Shared Crafts'.  There are about 30 or so ladies who attend, each of whom brings their own craft to do for the 2 hours we have there together.  Some bring their knitting, or crochet.  Some bring their sewing or embroidery.  Some, like myself bring their card craft resources.  I tend to take something that does not need a lot of die cutting etc. unless I have already cut everything and I am just going to put the card together there.

From Create & Craft I had recently purchased a Card Kit and I thought that this would be ideal to take along to Shared Craft.

It was, all I took with me in addition to the Card Kit was: adhesive (wet glue, foam pads and snail), trimmer and scissors.

I am not keen on putting foam pads on each layer of the decoupage cards, so I adhere mine flat to the previous piece.

The cards are still not completely flat as you can see from the card below.  In the Card Kit there are even a couple of sentiments to choose from for each card.

In one session at Shared Craft, I managed to complete 5 cards.  All I did when I came home was to find my embellishments e.g. sequins, rhinestones and pearls.  I added these embellishments to the cards if I felt it was necessary.  This completed my cards.

I would love to know what you think about my project, so please leave a comment.  Thank you.

Till next time, keep crafting!
