Fun Foam Floral Thank You Card
I saw a crafty friend Vera's design for this Card Challenge today and thought that I would like to join in with the SugarPea Mix It Up Challenge 40. Unfortunately, I haven't got any SugarPea stamps or dies at present so I had to use resources currently in my craft stash to create my design.
So initially I cut out an oval and a circle in a piece of foil blue card. Then in my craft stash I found an A2 card with a printed blue swirl pattern on it. Next I cut out the sentiment 'Thank You' in a joined up font with my Big Shot and adhered this to the oval.
I had my blue rhinestones ready to adhere at the end to embellish this design and to co-ordinate with that of the sketch above. My problem was I could not think of what to do with the circle or put on the circle. Do I stamp an image, if so, what image? Do I die cut something, if so, what?
Whilst I was pondering about this, I looked around my bedroom and noticed the pack of 'Fun Foam' I had just ordered from Amazon sitting on my shelf. I picked the pack up took out a piece of green, orange and pink. From my die folder I took out an assortment of flowers and leaves that I had. I ran these through the Big Shot, some more than once if there was room on the 2" strip of Fun Foam I had cut from each colour. I did not want to waste it - if it wasn't going to work.
I then started to arrange the pieces on to the blue foil circle edge. Some of the shapes I layered on top of each other. I decided to go for it, so I started adhering pieces of the shaped Fun Foam with wet glue onto the circle forming a floral arrangement. I tucked leaves underneath flowers, I put small flowers on top of larger ones to form the centres and I added small pearl embellishments for extra bling! To complete my design I added 3 blue rhinestones in the places indicated on the sketch. My project was now finished.
I would love to know what you think about my project, so please leave a comment. Thank you.
Till next time, keep crafting!
