Large Floral Stamp
Retro Rubber Challenge #rrcb81 was a sketch challenge as you can see from above. I had the ideal old stamp that I had wanted to use for a while. A craft friend at my Shared Craft Club on a Tuesday had asked me when I had started stamping if I would like to purchase some stamps from her as she no longer stamped. I obviously snapped this up, I was very early into my stamping so I did not know the difference between the different types of stamps. She did though tell me that a lot of her stamps were very old because she had been stamping for many years. I was just grateful to be given the opportunity to have an instant stash of stamps to be able to use. This stamp is what I would call a grey rubber stamp on a spongy backing, but it is very beautiful as you will see below on my project.
To create my project I found a ready made (5 x 5") white card base. Onto this I stamped the floral image starting from the middle and then around the outside in order that the whole front panel of the card base was covered. I then die cut a 4" circle on white card stock on my Big Shot. On this I stamped a further image. I used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol pens to colour the image with and embellished this further with gold tear drop rhinestones.
I adhered one white doily straight onto the card base and the second I popped up on foam pads. I then adhered the white circle card base with the coloured image on again popping this up on foam pads. To co-ordinate the inside and the envelope with the image; I put two thin lines of blue Washi tape on to these areas.
This project was quite simple to put together, but the stamp is the 'Star of the Show' without a doubt. Now my project was complete.
I would love to know what you think about my project, so please leave a comment. Thank you.
Till next time, keep crafting!

Fantastic idea for this card Lorraine
ReplyDeleteThank you my craft pal.
DeleteIt's always nice to get a stash of stuff like that and this one is a beauty. I like that you've used the same stamp for the background and the central image. The teardrops add such a glamorous element to your design. Thanks so much for joining us at Retro Rubber this week, Lorraine.
ReplyDeleteJan, thank you for the feedback it is really great to receive this. I am trying to use different ways to create backgrounds for my card designs this year. The stamp was so big it felt it would make a great backdrop to the main image.
DeleteBeautiful medallion stamp, love how you colored it. Thanks for joining Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you Creative Lady for your feedback. I am still a novice at my Spectrum Noir Alcohol pens but with practise I am getting better.
