Jungle Animals

I loved that Inspire. Create Challenge #012 was a Theme: Animals.  I knew as soon as I saw this what my design was going to be.  I have these fantastic jungle animals, well just look below and see.  

Initially to create my project, I found a (5 x 5") ready made card base in my craft stash.  I then went looking in my Designer Series Paper (DSP) stash to find something suitable as a background.  I was struggling initially until I found a stripy green background and decided to blend Memento Bamboo Shoots Ink through a leafy stencil on top of this.  I loved the result it looked like jungle vines.  I cut this to (5 x 5") and adhered it straight on to the card base.  What I cut off I decided to use as the grass at the bottom of my design and a long vertical piece I adhered straight into the inside of the card to continue the theme of the design.

Now it was time for the animals.  I put them all on to my stamp positioning tool so that I could get a really good black outline using my Memento Ink.  I stamped them three times until I was happy.  I then coloured and blended them with my Prismacolor Coloured Pencils and Zest blender.  I outlined them again with my black gel pen and using my ARTEZA black water colour brush pen I went along the edges of the cut out images to get rid of the white.  In my stash I had self-adhesive foam shapes and I found a leaf and some bananas which I adhered to the top left-hand corner of the card stock.  The monkey I then tucked under the leaf so that he looked as though he was hanging there.  The Giraffe I adhered with foam pads under the first layer of grass which was on foam pads too.  This is where I had the Tiger coming out from.  For the Lion, I cut some extra grass and he was higher up the card but still popped up on foam pads.   

All that was left was to co-ordinate the inside of the card, the envelope and put a sentiment on.  I re-positioned the card back into the stamp positioning tool and found a sentiment which said 'Go WILD! Go Bananas! It's YOUR BIRTHDAY'; which I stamped in the top right-hand corner of the card base.  On the envelope I stamped a line of paw prints and inside the card on the vertical piece of stamped DSP I adhered a foam monkey from my stash.  

Nearly finished, now I used my black Nuvo Drops to brighten all the animals eyes and noses.  Now my project was complete.
