My Lily
My take on the MFT Sketch Challenge #374 is below and I have named it "My Lily". I absolutely love Lilies of any colour.
To create my design I started off with a (6x6") ready-made card base which I had in my craft stash. I then looked through my Designer Series Paper (DSP) which I have vowed this year not to purchase any more until I have used most of my current stash. In this I found a gorgeous piece of DSP with different coloured purples on it which was ideal to adhere straight to the card base. I then just turned the card base over and trimmed off the excess paper.
For my main image I stamped a Lily in Memento Ink and coloured this with Prismacolor Coloured Pencils and blended with Zest blender. I then re-outlined with my black gel pen and added Wink of Stella to the stamen. I then cut this out on my Big Shot with a (2 1/4 x 3 3/4") stitched rectangle die. I then used the same die with a (4 1/2 x 3") stitched rectangle die and sent this through the Big Shot on a piece of patterned purple card stock to create a frame for the image. These were adhered to the card base with foam tape. The sentiment 'For You' was adhered to a (1 1/4 x 2 1/4") stitched rectangle piece of patterned purple card stock (the same used for the frame). Two small pearls were adhered to the centres of the flowers to complete this.
Two purple rhinestoned flowers were adhered to the DSP in two small spaces. There was an extra one so I adhered that inside the card along with glittery Washi tape; the same that I adhered to the front of the envelope. This brought all the elements of the card together and my project was complete.
I would love to know what you think about my project, so please leave a comment. Thank you.
Till next time, keep crafting!

DeleteHi Lorraine, Thought I'd pop over and see what you have been up to and you have been bust! The coloring on this card is subtle and lovely. I also think your photos look much more crisp and brisht! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lindsay for the feedback. Yes I have not got a photography booth yet but an old white pillowcase hung loosely over my laptop with three doilies and my white ceramic owl - does make for a better composition for my card projects. :O)
