Scrappy Cards

Scrappy Cards

Stampin' FOR ALL had a card challenge from 9th - 16th May to use scraps to create a card/s.  The cards photographed below are my cards created from scraps.  First I got my pink scraps folder and selected a selection of patterned paper and card stock and punched as many (1 1/8") scalloped circles as I could from this.

This first card has the scrap scalloped circles adhered to a piece of white card stock and it has been dry embossed with a heart embossing folder.  The top layer is a scrap piece of card stock with the oval aperture already cut into it.  This was the negative piece left over after cutting an oval shape in a previous project.  This too was dry embossed with the same embossing folder.  The "Hello" sentiment was die cut using a scrap piece of black card stock on the Big Shot and finally the ribbon was a scrap piece of black ribbon that I made a bow using my bow jig (which allows you to make bow as small as you want with very little ribbon too!)

The second card I adhered the scalloped circle scraps all over a piece of white card stock and dry embossed it with a dotty embossing folder.  I then adhered a scrap piece of lace and black ribbon at the bottom of the card and I die cut out the sentiment "Thank You" using scrap pieces of both black and white card stock.

The third card, I again adhered the scalloped circle scraps all over a piece of white card stock but this time I over-lapped them to leave as little white card stock as possible showing.  I embossed this with a cross embossing folder.  I used a piece of white scrap ribbon to put around the bottom of the card stock and to tie a bow with.  The sentiment "Thank You" was die cut using scraps of both black and white card stock too.

The fourth card was similar to the one above, where I adhered as many of the scalloped circle scraps onto the white card stock.  I dry embossed it as well but this was a floral embossing folder this time.  The sentiment "Happy Birthday" was die cut using black and purple card stock scraps too.

To make these four cards the only parts that were new were the card bases, the layers that the scalloped circles were adhered to and the envelopes.  Everything else was SCRAPS!

I had four scalloped circles left over so I adhered one to each bottom right-hand corner of the envelopes to continue the theme.  To complete my cards I stamped the sentiment "Happy Mail" on the front top left-hand corner of the envelope and stamped the image of the duck delivering the mail.  This helps the recipient of my cards know that they are not receiving a BILL!

I would love to know what you think about my projects, so please leave a comment.  Thank you.

Till next time, keep crafting!
