Birthday Blooms

Birthday Blooms

My entry for this challenge incorporates a Stampin' Up stamp set called "Birthday Blooms" which is now retired.

This is what you will need in order to re-create my project:

- Black card stock (8 1/4 x 5 7/8")  scored at (4 1/8") folded and burnished.
- White card stock (5 5/8 x 3 7/8") to be adhered inside the card base after a single bloom has been         stamped in black Memento ink in the left-hand bottom corner.
-  (x2) pieces of foiled DSP (Patterned Paper) (6 x1 1/4") and (4 x 1").  On the (4 x 1") piece stamp
sentiment "dear FRIEND" (from the same stamp set) and heat set with clear embossing powder.
- (x3) punched gold foil circles using a hole punch.
- A piece of gold foil card stock (4 x 2 3/4"), round the corners with a punch.
- A piece of black card stock (3 7/8 x 2 5/8"), round the corners with a punch.  Stamp the largest
floral bloom in stamp set with Versamark and heat set with gold embossing powder.  Paint with the
gold paint from Coliro Artist Mica Watercolor Set of 6 Pearl Colors by Finetec.  After this is dry, reposition
the card stock into the stamp positioner and stamp with Versamark Black ink.
- Stamp the sentiment "Happy Mail" and the duckling image holding the envelope onto the top left        hand corner of the envelope.  This ensures that the recipient of this card knows it is not a bill!

Putting the project together is quite simple, I did not want too much bulk on this project.  So the DSP is adhered with double sided tape.  The black card stock with the floral image on it is adhered the same way to the gold foil card stock.  (NB:  remember to always punch or die cut a shape out of the middle of your card stock or foils before using them as backing.  Being frugal with your craft stash means that you get to buy new things!)  The (x3) gold foil circles are adhered using small glue dots.  Finally, the floral image is 'popped up' with foam pads to give some dimension to the project.

If you have enjoyed finding out about my project, please leave me some feedback/comments as I find this very important for my future creations.

I also used this card as part of the FaceBook Group Stamp With Joy's weekly card sketch challenge.  This is week 30.

Thank you again for coming to my blog page, till next time, keep crafting!
